Unconfirmed reports (by INEC) going round suggest that the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Governor Yahaya Bello, has taken the lead, winning in 19 out of the 21 Local Governments so far.
If this reports is anything to go buy, Gov. Yahaya Bello will serve his second term.
Recall that since the birth of Kogi state, the Igalas ruled Kogi state for 16 years under the opposition party, PDP. Yahaya Bello is the first minory to rule the state, and this only happened because the Igala man, Late Prince Audu who was elected but not declared died on the same day of the last election. Hence, the party replaced Prince Abubakar Audu with his runner up in the then primary election.
