The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello has on Friday, 21st August 2020, assented to the Bills for the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara and Central Reference Hospital, Okene.
Kogi State House of Assembly earlier last week passed the bills which the Governor assented to today.
The bill for establishment of the university, sort to provide a legal framework for the establishment of a university that brings education closer to rural dwellers.
It will also ensure the judicious utilization of the mineral resources of the State for improved research and job creation.
Similarly, three other bills have been passed into law.
They are; that of a bill for a law establishing Magistrates Courts and the appointment of Magistrates and other matters connected therewith as well as that establishing Reference Hospital Okene.
In the same vein, a bill for a law on Agricultural Produce within Kogi State which is aimed at boosting revenue generation of the state has been returned to the Ministry of Agriculture for Redrafting.
The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole said the law will give legal backings to activities of government and improved well-being of the people.
